The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the draw for the African qualifying phase of the women’s football tournament for the 2028 Summer Olympics will take place on Wednesday, 29 April 2026.
The ceremony will be held at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt.
A total of 35 national teams will participate in the qualification campaign, including continental heavyweights such as Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, Ghana, and Cameroon, alongside emerging sides from across the continent.
The qualification process will unfold over five rounds, ultimately determining the two teams that will represent Africa at the women’s football tournament during the Los Angeles Olympics, scheduled from 11 to 29 July 2028.
With only two slots available, the competition is expected to be intense as teams battle for a place on one of the biggest stages in global sport.

Currently, Samuel also serves as the spokesman for the Nigeria Women Football League, further solidifying his influence and dedication to the growth of women's football in Africa.
