Marseille linked with Werder Bremen winger Justin Njinmah

German-Nigerian winger Justin Njinmah is the subject of transfer interest from Marseille, with the Ligue 1 club linked with a move for the Werder Bremen player.

Njinmah, 25, has been valued at €5m and has established himself as a right winger for the Bundesliga club. The reported likelihood of the proposed switch is rated at 53%.

He joined Werder Bremen in January 2022 before spending the 2021-22 season on loan with Borussia Dortmund II. He returned to Bremen at the end of the following season and has remained with the club since.

Njinmah has made 84 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 14 goals and providing six assists. He has also played 50 times in Germany’s third tier, where he scored 18 goals and supplied seven assists.

Born in Hamburg, Njinmah has both German and Nigerian nationality. His career began in the Hamburg area before he progressed through the youth system at Holstein Kiel and later moved into senior football with Holstein Kiel II.

The possible move would take him from the Bundesliga to Ligue 1, with Marseille identified as his prospective destination. Njinmah’s current market value has risen from €175,000 when he joined Werder Bremen to €5m, having previously reached a reported high of €9m.

He remains a Werder Bremen player, with no confirmed transfer announced.
