Newcastle forward William Osula could end Nigeria hopes with Denmark appearance

Newcastle United forward William Osula could become ineligible to play for Nigeria if he appears for Denmark in either of their UEFA Nations League matches this month, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Denmark manager Brian Riemer has included the Danish-born striker in a 24-man squad for games against Portugal and Norway in November.
Denmark, the 1992 European champions, will travel to Braga to face Portugal on November 14 before hosting Norway at Parken Stadium on November 17.
Osula remains eligible to change his international allegiance for now. The 23-year-old has won two senior caps for Denmark, but both appearances came in international friendlies.
However, an appearance in either of the forthcoming Nations League fixtures would tie Osula to Denmark. The matches are classified as competitive internationals by UEFA, while the forward is already above the age of 21.
Osula made his senior international debut against the Democratic Republic of Congo on June 3, playing 45 minutes. Four days later, he started as Denmark defeated Ukraine 2-1.
The Nigeria Football Federation has reportedly tried to convince Osula to switch from Denmark and represent the Super Eagles.
His selection for the latest Denmark squad suggests he remains committed to the national team known as the Red and Whites. A competitive debut could now be close, provided he features against Portugal or Norway.
The Newcastle attacker missed Denmark’s first four UEFA Nations League matches because of a foot injury.
