Gulf Cup 27: Yemen’s fixtures, Group B line-up and where to watch

Yemen will face United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain in Group B at the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup, which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia from 23 September to 6 October 2026.
The tournament will feature eight national teams, divided into two groups of four. Yemen will begin its campaign on Thursday, 24 September against United Arab Emirates, before meeting Qatar on Sunday, 27 September and Bahrain on Wednesday, 30 September.
Yemen enter the competition with realistic ambitions as they attempt to narrow the gap on the Gulf region’s more experienced sides.
How the tournament works
The eight teams were allocated to four seeding levels under the competition regulations, with one team from each level drawn into every group.
The first round will be played as a single round-robin. Each side will therefore play three matches against the other teams in its group.
Group A contains Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman and Kuwait. It is expected to be closely contested because of the relatively even levels of experience and ability among the four teams.
Group B consists of United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Yemen, with all four nations aiming to reach the knockout stage.
The top two teams in each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The Group A winners will play the Group B runners-up, while the Group B winners will face the Group A runners-up.
The two semi-final winners will meet in the final to determine the champions of the 27th edition of the Arabian Gulf Cup.
