Liverpool’s Ryan Gravenberch ruled out against Fenerbahce with heel fracture

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has been ruled out of Wednesday’s Champions League meeting with Fenerbahce after suffering a fracture to his heel.
The Netherlands international was an unused substitute during Liverpool’s 1-0 Premier League defeat by Arsenal at Anfield. Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola said Gravenberch first became aware of the problem while warming up before that match.
Gravenberch will miss Liverpool’s fourth league-phase fixture in the Champions League against Fenerbahce on 04 November 2026. Iraola is also uncertain whether the midfielder will recover in time for the Premier League trip to Crystal Palace on Sunday, 08 November 2026.
Asked by The Sun when Gravenberch might return, Iraola said: “I don’t know, it’s day by day.”
He added: “It’s a fracture in the heel. It is about the pain. He had some discomfort.”
The Liverpool manager said the midfielder’s availability for the weekend would be a significant boost, but stressed that no decision could yet be made.
“If he can be there at the weekend, that would be great and he would be a big help for us,” said Iraola. “But I cannot tell you now.”
