Chelsea legend Didier Drogba reveals advice offered to Victor Osimhen

Ivorian legend and former Chelsea striker, Didier Drogba has revealed how he messaged Nigerian international Victor Osimhen after finding out that he considers him his role model.

The two players are yet to meet in person but the 24-year-old Nigerian has never hidden his outright admiration for the Ivorian and how he looked up to the African goal poacher while growing up.

Former Chelsea and current Roma coach Jose Mourinho had compared both players claiming they have something in common after managing the Ivorian with the Blues and closely watching Osimhen in the Italian Serie A.

Osimhen is the Serie A top scorer with 18 league goals,  including recent fine display in the Champions League by scoring a goal against Eintracht Frankfurt at the same stadium where Austin Jay Jay Okocha made history.

And the former Galatasaray legend said that he knows Osimhen views him as his role model and has given him his support.

“I know that Osimhen described me as his model,” Drogba told Spazio Napoli.

“We never met but one day I wrote to him complimenting him. I sent him a message and told him to continue like this.”
