U20 World Cup: ‘Don’t underestimate your opponents’ – Dosu Joseph warns Nigeria

As the 2023 FIFA U20 world cup is set for kickoff, former Nigeria goalkeeper, Dosu Joseph has warned the Nigeria U20 men’s national team not to underestimate their group stage opponents.
Nigeria are drawn in Group D alongside Dominican Republic, Italy, and Brazil as the Flying Eagles will aim for it first ever global glory on their 13th appearance at the FIFA U20 World Cup.
The Flying Eagles will open their campaign against the Dominican Republic for points on Sunday before facing Italy in their second group game and the Atlanta Olympic gold medalist believes the result from the opener against the Caribbean nation will decide the progression chances of Ladan Bosso’s side.
“The game against the Dominican Republic will be a very important game for the Flying Eagles because the outcome of the game will determine how far they will go in their group,” Joseph told Completesport.com.
“Notwithstanding, I will advise them to treat the Dominican Republic like a very big team because underestimating them may prove bad for Nigeria.”
