Nigeria President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent a message of inspiration and believe to Super Falcons as they take on Australia in the Matchday two of 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Thursday in Brisbane.
The Super Falcons will hoping to go a step better than their opening goaless draw against Canada when they face the tournament’s co host nation in front of their fans.
In a statement released by President Tinubu’s Media Adviser, Dele Alake, the Mr. President firmly believed that the Thursday match will be a thrilling encounter that will culminate in victory for the Nigerian team.
While acknowledging the Super Falcons’ remarkable achievements as a dominant force in women’s football in Africa, President Tinubu is confident that the mixture of youth and experience will propel the Coach Randy Waldrum led Falcons to even greater heights in this tournament.
He however assured the team of the enthusiastic support of all Nigerians, urging the team to continue exemplifying Nigeria’s spirit of determination and excellence both on and off the pitch, serving as worthy ambassadors of the nation.
A win for Super Falcons will put them in good stead for the final match against Ireland, who have already been eliminated after losing their second consecutive game against Canada.
