Super Falcons teammates, Asisat Oshoala and Ashleigh Plumptre have extended their warmest support to fellow compatriot, Chiamaka Nnadozie, following her remarkable performance in the UEFA Women’s Champions League (UWCL) qualifying round against Wolfsburg.
Nnadozie stole the show as her Paris FC conquered UWCL giants, Wolfsburg, 2-0 in Germany on Wednesday night.
The Nigerian goalkeeper saved a penalty from the home side in the 61st minute at the AOK Stadion, her third penalty save in two matches after she made two saves in a penalty shootout win against last season’s semifinalist Arsenal, in the previous round before also eliminating last season’s finalist Wolfsburg.
Recall that the stand-in captain also saved a penalty from legendary Christine Sinclair at the recently concluded Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand as Nigeria held Olympic champions Canada to a goalless draw.
Her repeated heroic performance means Paris FC will be making their in the UWCL group stage.
Meanwhile, her effort did not go unnoticed as five-time African Player of the Year and UWCL defending champion with FC Barcelona, Asiaat Oshola took to her Instagram stories to celebrate her national teammate.
“Chi baby, I believe you die,” she captioned her video post. “Reliable number 1,” Oshoala added in the video as she watched her compatriot in action.
Plumptre had moved her club career from England to Saudi Arabia with Al-Ittihad ladies.
The defender quoted a post by the official X handle of UWCL with a message that reads; “it’s what she does! Go @nadoziechiamaka.”
