Afcon 2023: ‘I’m here to win the Africa Cup of Nations title’ – Samuel Chukwueze

Nigeria youngster, Samuel Chukwueze has set his sights on winning the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cote d’Ivoire.
The Milan winger haven’t lived up to expectations in the continental showpiece as the AC Milan star insists that he is not in Cote d’Ivoire for fun but rather to get the job done for the Super Eagles by winning the tournament.
“I can’t leave Milan to come here and not win a trophy, I really need it,” Chukwueze was quoted by Calciomercato.
“I want to make my country proud and I don’t want to waste my club’s time for nothing. I have to fight for my position and win.”
Cameroon had beated Nigeria in their last two meetings in the AFCON and the recent was the comeback 3-2 victory in 2019 at the quarter final stage.
The last time the Indomitable Lions defeated the Super Eagles was at the final of the 2000 AFCON through penalty shootout.
