AFCON 2023: Stanley Nwabali relishes ‘interesting’ clash with familiar South Africa

Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is ecpectin an ‘interesting’ showdown when the Super Eagles take on South Africa in the semifinal of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday.

Both teams will rekindle their age long rivalries when the meet against in Bouake for a place in the final of the tournament.

Nwabali, who plying his trade in South Africa with Chippa United, is looking forward to facing up against fellow PSL rivals on the international stage.

“I know them and they know me. It will be an interesting evening in Bouake,” he said.

Nwabali will be the final shotstopper in what promises to be a titanic battle of Nigeria and South Africa on Wednesday.

Jose Peseiro’s men will aim to replicate their 2019 AFCON feat over the Bafana Bafana when they stroll over them with a 2-1 win in the quarterfinal.

The match is billed for 6pm in Bouake.
