Akor Adams earns Venezia win over Napoli as Davide Nicola praises striker

Venezia manager Davide Nicola has praised Akor Adams after the striker scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Napoli at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo on Saturday.

Adams struck four minutes into the second half after taking advantage of an error by Napoli defender Benoit Badiashile. His finish secured all three points and gave Venezia only their second Serie A victory of the season.

The defeat was Napoli’s third of the campaign.

Nicola highlights Adams’ contribution

Although Nicola said he preferred not to focus on individual players, the Venezia manager acknowledged Adams’ work for the team and pointed to the striker’s potential for further improvement.

“I don’t like to talk about individuals. Adams puts his heart and soul into it, he has some very important qualities, he helps the team. Akor has incredible room for improvement,” Nicola was quoted as saying by Pazzi di Fanta.

The goal further demonstrated Adams’ growing importance to Venezia as they seek greater consistency in the Italian top flight.

Venezia will attempt to build on the result when they travel to face Genoa on Sunday, October 25, 2026.
