Al Qadsiah grant 10-day break after Roshn Saudi League postponement

Al Qadsiah have followed the example of Al Hilal and Al Nassr by giving their players an extended break after the postponement of the Roshn Saudi League.
The Asian Football Confederation announced on Tuesday morning that the AFC Asian Cup, which had been scheduled to begin in January 2027, would instead start in December of the same year.
The decision led the Roshn Saudi League to postpone its 13th round, originally due to take place from 5 to 7 November, until a later date. The league now has more time to complete the season without having to congest the fixture calendar.
According to Saudi newspaper Al Riyadiya, Al Qadsiah manager Brendan Rodgers has given his squad 10 days off following the unexpected change to the league schedule.
The eastern club will not play any friendly matches during the next international break. Instead, the players will follow recovery and fitness programmes when they return to training.
Rodgers’ decision mirrors the approach taken by Al Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi and Al Nassr boss Ange Postecoglou. Inzaghi granted his players a 10-day holiday, while Postecoglou gave the Al Nassr squad nine days off.
Al Qadsiah are second in the Saudi league table with 28 points. They are ahead of third-placed Al Nassr on goal difference and trail leaders Al Hilal by two points.
