Alexsandro expects ‘battle’ as Lille prepare to face Galatasaray’s Osimhen

Lille defender Alexsandro Ribeiro says facing Victor Osimhen is always difficult as his side prepare to meet Galatasaray in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Nigeria international has yet to score in the competition this season, but has made an impressive start to the campaign overall, registering six goals and three assists in seven appearances.

That form has established Osimhen as a key player for the Yellow-Reds, with his finishing and movement presenting a major threat to Lille.

Alexsandro has already experienced playing against the striker in a friendly and expects another demanding contest when the sides meet.

“Playing against (Victor) Osimhen is always difficult,” Alexsandro said at his pre-match press conference. “I’ve already played a friendly match against him. It’s going to be a battle tomorrow (Wednesday), but it’s going to be great too.”

Osimhen has not scored or provided an assist in his past two appearances, against Barcelona and Genclerbirligi.

The former Lille striker will now be hoping to regain his scoring touch and help Galatasaray claim their first victory in the Champions League this season.
