Anthony Dennis completes move from Goztepe to UAE club Al Jazira
Nigerian midfielder Anthony Dennis has completed his transfer from Turkish club Goztepe to United Arab Emirates side Al Jazira.
The 22-year-old’s arrival was confirmed by Al Jazira in a statement published on the club’s official X account, bringing an end to his time with Goztepe after he helped the Turkish side secure promotion to the Super Lig.
“The wait is over! Officially: Al Jazira Club completes the signing of the young midfielder Anthony Dennis and registers him as a resident player,” the club stated.
Dennis began his career in Nigeria before moving to Turkey. He joined Goztepe from HB Academy in Abuja in January 2023 and initially played for the club’s under-19 team.
His progress soon led to an opportunity with the senior side, where he made his professional debut in a 1-1 TFF First League draw against Corum on 27 January 2024.
The midfielder went on to establish himself as a regular member of Goztepe’s first team. His performances contributed to the club’s promotion to the Turkish Super Lig for the 2024/25 season.
Goztepe rewarded Dennis with a contract extension in May 2024, keeping him under contract until 2027. He finished his spell with the club having scored five goals and provided two assists in 83 appearances across all competitions.
Dennis, who has previously been invited to join the Super Eagles, will now continue his career in the UAE after completing his move to Al Jazira.
The midfielder’s next challenge will be to make his mark in the UAE Pro League, where he will begin a new chapter after developing from an academy player into a senior professional during his time in Turkey.
