By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde
Ahead of the return leg game of the 2024/2025 CAF Champions League Preliminary Round between Moroccan side, AS FAR FC and Remo Stars from Nigeria, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced officials that will take charge of the deciding encounter.
CAF named Adissa Abdul Raphiou Ligali as the centre referee for the important clash on Thursday.
The Benin Republic arbiter will be at the centre of the game in Rabat.
The Nigerian side required at least a draw to progress while ASFAR must win the game to reach the second round.
The first leg in Ikenne last weekend ended 2-1 in favour of the Sky Blue Stars.
The last time Remo Stars visited Morocco, they returned home with a 1-1 draw but crashed out after a 1-0 loss in Ikenne.
Daniel Ogunmodede’s side will hope to progress from the Preliminary Round of the competition for the first time in their history.
They have bowed out of the CAF Confederation Cup and Champions League at the first hurdle in the past two seasons.
