Charles Chukwudi: Nigerian teenager scores to lift Ostrava over Znojmo

Charles Chukwudi was on target on Sunday as his Czech third division side, Ostrava B upended Znojmo 3-2 in Round 16 of the MSFL.

Brazil midfielder, Matheus Goncalves gave Znojmo the lead in the 34th minute which was the only goal of the first half.

In the 51st minute, Daniel Smekal equalised for Ostrava B before Charles Chukwudi scored in the 78th minute to give Ostrava B the lead for the first time in the game.

Timofej Barkov made it 3-1 for the host in the 89th minute before Lukas Lukco reduced the deficit for Znojmo deep inside the additional minutes of second half.

19-year-old Charles Chukwudi didn’t start the match and replaced Patrik Mekota in the 63rd minute before scoring his fourth goal in 17 games for Ostrava B.

Ostrava B occupy the fourth position on the log with 35 points, behind leaders Kromeriz and they will face Roice in another league encounter on December 11.
