By Wale Mustapha

Glasgow Rangers striker Cyriel Dessers described scoring his first Old Firm goal at Ibrox as an “unbelievable feeling” following his side’s 1-1 draw with Celtic on Sunday.

The Nigerian international found the net in the high-stakes Scottish Premiership clash, bringing his season tally to 25 goals across all competitions.

The match, played at Ibrox Stadium, saw Dessers help Rangers salvage a point against their fierce rivals and reigning champions.

“To score an Old Firm goal at Ibrox is an unbelievable feeling,” Dessers said in a post-match interview with the club’s official website.

“I scored one last season, but it got called off, so it was an amazing feeling.”

Dessers highlighted the quality of the goal, describing it as a well-executed team effort.

“It was a beautiful team goal,” he said.

“We broke out with speed. I saw Diomande, he saw me, and then Vaclav had a nice stepover and read the situation well.”

The 30-year-old forward has been a key figure for Barry Ferguson’s side this season, playing a crucial role in Rangers’ push for domestic honours.
