Ebenezer Akinsanmiro: Monza eye move for Inter’s Nigerian midfielder

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, the Nigeria-born central midfielder currently at Inter, is attracting interest from Serie A rivals Monza in a potential summer move. The 21-year-old, who is under contract at San Siro until 30 June 2029, has emerged as a target as Monza look to reinforce their options in the middle of the pitch.

Akinsanmiro returned to Inter this summer after a season-long loan at Pisa, where he featured regularly in Serie B and made 35 league appearances, scoring once and adding one assist. His performances there have helped raise his profile and market value, which now stands at around €7m, and Monza are monitoring whether Inter would be open to negotiating a deal rather than sending him on another loan.

The Lagos-born midfielder has already accumulated Serie A experience, making 25 top-flight appearances for Inter and contributing one assist, as well as featuring in the Coppa Italia. He first joined the Nerazzurri in January 2023 from Nigerian side Remo Stars, initially linking up with the youth ranks before stepping into the senior setup.

Akinsanmiro has also been part of a successful period at Inter, being in the squad as the club secured the Serie A title in 2023-24. With significant time still left on his current deal and Inter having invested in his development through consecutive loans to Sampdoria and Pisa, any move to Monza is likely to hinge on whether the champions consider him part of their long-term plans or are prepared to cash in on his rising value.
