Daniel Wisdom: Nigerian winger joins Jong KAA Gent on loan from Spartak

Nigerian winger Daniel Wisdom has joined Belgian side Jong KAA Gent on loan from Serbian club Spartak.

The 19-year-old left-sided attacker makes the move from the Serbian Prva liga to the Challenger Pro League, linking up with the development squad of the Belgian club. The deal is a straight loan transfer, adding a new wide option to Jong KAA Gent’s attacking ranks for the upcoming campaign.

Wisdom arrives from Spartak, where he had been part of the first-team picture in Serbia’s second tier. The switch to Belgium places him in a competition known for giving regular opportunities to younger players within a professional league structure, offering him a new environment and style of football.

Capable of operating on the left flank, Wisdom fits into Jong KAA Gent’s role as a bridge between youth football and the senior set-up, with the Belgian side regularly using the Challenger Pro League to test emerging players against seasoned professionals. His move also continues the trend of young African talents using Eastern European leagues as a stepping stone before heading to Western Europe.

The transfer was completed on 17 July 2026, with Wisdom now registered as a Jong KAA Gent player on a loan deal from Spartak.
