Elijah Adebayo, the star striker for Luton Town, has expressed his strong desire to represent the Super Eagles of Nigeria, citing his deep connection to his Nigerian heritage as a driving force.

Born to Nigerian parents in England, the 26-year-old Premier League talent faces the choice between playing for Nigeria or opting for the Three Lions.

Despite currently nursing a hamstring injury, Adebayo has showcased his prowess with nine goals in 23 appearances since Luton’s promotion to the Premier League.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Adebayo passionately expressed his interest in representing Nigeria.

“Heritage is big for me, obviously,” he stated. “My mum was born in Nigeria and she came here (to England) and I went back to Nigeria when I was young and I am obviously looking forward to going again.

“My grandma lives in Nigeria, so the heritage is there. I am proud to be Nigerian and I would love to play for Nigeria. So, it’s a case of my mum would be very proud if I play for Nigeria as well.”

Adebayo’s sentiments underscore his strong connection to Nigeria and his eagerness to contribute to the national team’s success on the international stage.
