Eric Chelle shuts doors to maintain Nigeria focus ahead of Zimbabwe clash

By Dayo Awoniyi

Nigeria’s head coach Eric Chelle has imposed strict restrictions on the team’s camp to ensure maximum concentration ahead of their upcoming match against Zimbabwe on Tuesday.

Following their 2-0 win over Rwanda in Kigali, the Nigerian squad returned home and immediately began preparations for the fixture.

In a statement on Saturday through the media officer Promise Efugh, Chelle has closed off the camp to both visitors and journalists for the duration of the training sessions as part of his approach to minimize distractions.

Sunday’s practice will be closed to the public, with no media access allowed.

On Monday, the team will hold an official press conference, followed by a brief 15-minute training session open to journalists. Mixed-zone interactions with players will also be facilitated on match day.

Chelle’s strict measures reflect his determination to keep the players fully focused and ready for the crucial clash against Zimbabwe on Tuesday evening.
