Fenerbahce sign Nigeria star Suliat Abideen after standout 2024 season
Fenerbahce have signed Nigerian midfielder Suliat Abideen following a stellar 2024 campaign in which she was named Player of the Tournament in the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) and Most Valuable Player at the WAFU-B Women’s Champions League qualifiers.
The Istanbul giants confirmed the arrival of the 24-year-old on their official website, announcing that she has agreed a deal that will keep her at the club until the end of the current season.
Abideen joins from fellow Turkish side ABB Fomget and becomes the latest addition to a Fenerbahce squad that will compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League in the 2026-27 season.
Fenerbahce confirm attacking addition
Fenerbahce published a detailed statement to unveil their new signing, highlighting Abideen’s attacking qualities and recent performances in Turkey’s top flight.
“Fenerbahce Women’s Football Team has added Abideen Suliat Olajumoke, an attacking player who played for ABB Fomget GSK in the Turkcell Women’s Super League last season, to its squad,” the club wrote.
“The 24-year-old player signed a contract that will keep her with the Yellow and Blue colors until the end of the season.
“We welcome her to our club and wish her many successes in our striped jersey.
“Welcome to our club. We wish you many successes in our Cubuklu jersey,” Fenerbahce wrote.
Abideen’s arrival underlines Fenerbahce’s intent to strengthen their women’s side further after their domestic title triumph last season.

At Fenerbahce, Abideen will link up with compatriots Flourish Sebastine and Regina Otu, both already established members of the squad.
The growing Nigerian presence at the club reflects the increasing influence of Nigerian players in women’s football across Europe and the wider international game.
