Fulham’s Marco Silva hails Calvin Bassey’s potential, calls for greater consistency

Fulham manager Marco Silva has lauded Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey for his standout performance in the team’s 3-2 comeback win over Liverpool but urged the young defender to maintain more consistency going forward on Sunday.

Bassey was instrumental in Fulham’s victory at Craven Cottage, playing a key role in securing the defense during a tense second half.

Silva, who has been impressed with the 24-year-old’s skills, believes Bassey has all the qualities necessary to become a top-tier central defender.

“Calvin has all the skills to be a top central defender. He ticks all the boxes to be a top, top player,” speaking to the BBC after the match, Silva said.

However, the Portuguese coach also stressed that Bassey must focus on delivering consistent performances.

“Now he has to be more consistent,” Silva added.
