The Nigeria U15 men’s team have arrived safely in the country following their invitational tour of Morocco.
The Future Eagles had a two-match tour in the city of Kenitra which is two-and-half hours by road from Casablanca, Morocco’s industrial and economic capital.
Coach Patrick Bassey and assistants Hussein Lawal and Augustine Iyamu led 21 future stars to experience their first steps in international football while the delegation was led by former Nigeria winger and captain Dr. Felix Owolabi, MON.
They landed at Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos at 4:35 am and joined another local flight to Abuja at 7am on Tuesday.
The Nigerian had a score to settle with the Young Atlas Lions given the manner of their defeat when both teams faced off on Friday, March 22.
The Eagles battled back from a two-goal deficit to level the score 2-2 against their Moroccan hosts but suffered a late controversial penalty.
However, they responded well in their second game showcasing their scoring ability by thrashing their hosts 5-3 on Monday night.
The boys are now back home to continue their development in line with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) vision of developing football from the grassroots, and actively providing avenues for young talents to fulfil their potentials and realise their dreams.
