Galatasaray reject Al-Hilal’s €150m bid for Victor Osimhen

Galatasaray have rejected a €150m offer from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal for Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, insisting they have no intention of selling the forward.

Al-Hilal initially made a verbal proposal of €130m for Osimhen through a delegation led by Prince Nawaf bin Saad. The prince told Galatasaray’s management that he would travel personally to Istanbul if discussions progressed to a formal stage.

The Saudi club were also prepared to offer Osimhen €50m per year, an astronomical salary reflecting their determination to sign the Super Eagles striker.

Galatasaray informed Al-Hilal that they were not interested in selling the player. In response, the Saudi side increased its offer to €150m, but the Turkish Super Lig club again refused.

President Dursun Ozbek and the Galatasaray board made it clear that the club remained committed to keeping Osimhen as part of its squad, despite the size of the proposal.

Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray from Napoli at the beginning of last season, has also indicated that he is content at the club and concentrating on the campaign ahead. He has reiterated that money is not his priority.

The Nigeria international made an immediate impact in the opening week of the league, scoring twice against Corum FK.

Al-Hilal’s interest follows a strong period for Osimhen at Galatasaray, where he has established himself as a key attacking figure. The club’s decision to reject the bid underlines its desire to retain the striker rather than accept a major transfer fee from the Saudi Arabian side.

The offer was presented verbally by the Al-Hilal delegation, with the proposed €130m fee later raised to €150m after Galatasaray rejected the initial approach. Despite that increase, Ozbek and his management remained firm in their position.

Osimhen’s stance has matched that of the club. While Al-Hilal offered a considerably higher financial package, the forward has said he is happy with the yellow and red club and is focused on preparing for the new season.

Galatasaray’s refusal means Osimhen remains with the team, with the striker already having opened his league account by scoring twice against Corum FK in the first week of the campaign.
