Hamburg assess Terem Moffi knee injury before Hoffenheim match

Hamburg head coach Merlin Polzin says Terem Moffi’s knee problem will be monitored closely this week before the Bundesliga meeting with TSG Hoffenheim.
The Nigeria international sustained the issue during Hamburg’s most recent league game against FC Cologne. He was substituted after the interval, with Yussuf Poulsen taking his place.
Polzin is unwilling to take unnecessary risks with the striker and says Hamburg need to establish how his knee responds before deciding whether he can return to action.
“We need to get to know his (Moffi’s) knee a little better through our work together. The knee reacted a bit more than I initially thought. Now we have to wait and see what happens this week,” Polzin told Kicker.
Moffi joined Hamburg on a season-long loan from French club OGC Nice.
The 27-year-old has made four league appearances for the Bundesliga side but is still waiting for his first goal.
