Ismaila Sarr calls Manchester United his ‘only dream club’ as Crystal Palace star flirts with summer move

Senegal forward Ismaila Sarr has declared Manchester United as his “only dream club”, throwing his future at Crystal Palace into fresh doubt and intensifying speculation over a major summer transfer to Old Trafford.

The 28-year-old, who was one of Senegal’s standout performers at the 2026 World Cup, has publicly acknowledged his admiration for United after reports in England revealed that the Premier League giants had opened talks with his representatives.

‘I love Manchester United with all my heart’

Speaking to Senegalese media, Sarr left little room for interpretation about where his ambitions lie.

“My dream club? Honestly, there is only one club. I love Manchester United with all my heart, and I am one of their biggest fans,” he said.

His comments come after UK outlet TeamTalk reported on 2 July that United had held discussions with Sarr’s agent over a possible transfer. The report said United were impressed by his World Cup displays, where he scored four goals and provided one assist for Senegal at the 2026 tournament.

The forward’s public admiration for United is widely being read as a clear signal of his desire to make the move to Old Trafford this summer.

Contract ties mean Palace hold the cards

Despite his evident enthusiasm, Sarr stressed that any decision ultimately rests with Crystal Palace, where he remains under a long-term deal.

In remarks to the Senegalese News Agency, he said: “I have a three-year contract with Crystal Palace; it is up to them to decide. Football is my profession, and I enjoy playing it.”

Sarr’s current contract position gives Palace significant leverage in any negotiations. The south London club are understood to value him at around £50m, reflecting his importance to the team and his performances over the past season.

Sources indicate that Manchester United would likely need to sell Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee first to help finance a move for Sarr.

The interest in Sarr comes as Manchester United continue a major squad rebuild ahead of the new campaign.
