Iwobi, Bassey feature as Zirkzee late strike stuns Fulham

Manchester United summer signing, Joshua Zirkzee scored a last grasp goal to stun Fulham in the opening game of the English Premier League season.

Nigeria duet of Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi who featured for 90 minutes couldn’t salvage a point for the Cottagers in the game.

Mason Mount made way for Zirkzee introduction in the game in the 61st minute and the Dutch star stole the show with the winning goal in the 87th minute.

Iwobi could only muster a shot at goal in the game, while Bassey has 51 passes, two fouls, one successful tackle in 90 minutes and a yellow card to name in the match.

Zirkzee becomes the 15th Dutch player to score on his Premier League maiden game and fourth to do at Manchester United after Ruud van Nistelrooy, Alexander Büttner and Donny van de Beek.

Fulham next game is at home against Leicester City on Saturday, August 24.
