Javier Tebas challenges Real Madrid over €7.5m in transfers to Barcelona-linked company

Javier Tebas has launched a fresh attack on Real Madrid, questioning the purpose of payments the club made to a company also linked to Barcelona.

The La Liga president made the comments on social media after responding to a post on X that included a video from Real Madrid’s television channel. The video referred to a document involving Barcelona and a €4.5m loan to Audio Visual New Age, a company associated with Tebas.

Rather than address only the document concerning Barcelona, Tebas highlighted previous transactions between Real Madrid and the same company.

He said he had evidence of the payments and published two examples, writing: “I have attached two examples of transfers from Real Madrid to Audio Visual New Age. Between 2011 and 2013, the club’s total transfers to this company amounted to €7,513,333.55.

“Yes, to the same company in which Barcelona had a stake. How strange!”

Tebas also called for explanations from two people connected with Real Madrid over the reasons for the payments and how the money was used.

“Ask Jas and Chetin del Valle why those transfers were made and what their purpose was,” he wrote.

He also specifically challenged Chetin del Valle to explain an email dated 9 May 2018, including who had instructed him to write it.

Tebas then called for the documents to be sent to Real Madrid so the club could publicly address the matters once again.

“Send them the documents, Adrian, and ask them to publish another video,” he added. “This time, they should explain what they are hiding. To be continued… Enough lies and manipulation…”

The exchange represents Tebas’ latest public criticism of Real Madrid, this time centred on the club’s historical financial dealings with Audio Visual New Age and the questions he says those transactions raise.
