Jay Jay Okocha names his best candidate for African Player of the Year award

African football icon, Austin Okocha has chosen Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen as most deserved winner of 2023 African Footballer of the Year award.
Osimhen is one of the favourites to win the prestigious individual award but he will contend with former Manchester City winger, Riyadh Mahrez, Achraf Hakimi of PSG.
Okocha insists the Super Eagles’ forward is the most consistent player in 2023 and stand a better chance to win the award.
According to Okocha, “He [Osimhen] deserves it because for me, he was the most consistent player of last season. He deserves it.”
Osimhen led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years last season, scoring 26 goals.
The winner of the CAF top prize will be announced at an event on December 11 in Morocco.
