Joy Omewa on target as Fortuna Hjorring falter to Odense Q

Nigeria forward, Joy Omewa was on target for Danish Elitedivisionen women’s side, Fortuna Hjorring as the host suffered a 2-1 loss in the Championship match on Saturday.

Rylan Childers broke the deadlock for the visitors with an early goal in the ninth minute at the Nord Energi Arena, Hjorring.

The lead lasted for 11 minutes before Omewa restored parity for the host from Sydney Masur’s assist.

Nine minutes from full time, Dikte Bang converted the winning goal for Odense Q.

Omewa who played the duration of the game increased her goal tally at the top of the goal scorers chart to 17 after 19 games.

She has also provided four assists for her side in the league this season.

Fortuna Hjorring top the log despite the setback with 44 points after 19 games, 10 more than Nordsjaelland which have an outstanding match.

They will next face Koge on May 4, 2025.
