Kano Pillars Begin 2026/27 NPFL Pre-Season with Renewed Title Ambition

Kano Pillars FC have officially kicked off preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, holding their first training session on Monday at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano.

The opening workout was supervised by the club’s technical crew, led by head coach Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro, alongside assistant coach Gambo Muhammad and goalkeepers’ trainer Suleiman Shuaibu, as players returned to camp focused on the challenges of the new campaign.

Before training commenced, the club’s Chairman, Alhaji Ahmad Musbahu Garo, represented by Management Board Member Alhaji Abba Galadima, welcomed the squad and urged the players to embrace the season with discipline, commitment and a winning mentality.

Describing the 2026/27 campaign as “a season of serious business,” he challenged both the players and technical crew to give their best in the quest for domestic success and a return to continental football.

Speaking on behalf of the squad, captain Rabiu Ali thanked the club’s management for its continued support and assured supporters that the players are fully committed to meeting the expectations of the Pride of Kano.

Head coach Ahmed Garba Yaro Yaro also expressed appreciation to the management for its confidence in the technical crew, pledging to build a competitive team capable of challenging for major honours. He said the coaching staff understands the responsibility of leading Sai Masu Gida and is determined to deliver a successful season.

Management Board Members Sharu Inuwa Rabiu, Bashir Idris and Engr. Usman Mustapha K/Na’isa were also present at the training ground, offering words of encouragement as preparations gathered momentum.

With pre-season now underway, Kano Pillars have set their sights on mounting a strong challenge for the NPFL title while securing one of the coveted continental qualification places in the 2026/27 season.
