Kingsley Ehizibue: Dutch-Nigerian free agent linked with Udinese return

Kingsley Ehizibue, the Dutch-Nigerian right-back currently without a club, is being linked with a return to Udinese in Serie A. The 31-year-old left the Friulani at the start of July after his contract expired but could now be in line for a swift reunion with the Italian side.

Ehizibue previously joined Udinese from German club Koln in August 2022 for a reported fee of €1.5 million and went on to establish himself in Serie A, making 115 league appearances in Italy during his career to date. His market value is currently estimated at around €2 million, and his free-agent status removes the need for a transfer fee, potentially making any deal more straightforward if Udinese decide to move.

Born in Munich and eligible for both the Netherlands and Nigeria, Ehizibue built his reputation in the Eredivisie with PEC Zwolle, where he progressed from the youth ranks into the first team before earning a move to Germany in 2019. He featured 122 times in the Dutch top flight, contributing goals and assists from full-back, before his switch to Koln and later to Udinese.

The defender has also experienced top-flight football in the Bundesliga, making 69 appearances there before testing himself in Serie A. Standing at 1.89m and operating primarily on the right side of defence, he offers significant experience across three of Europe’s major leagues.

Ehizibue officially became a free agent on 1 July 2026 after his Udinese deal came to an end and is currently assessing his options as interest from the Italian club gathers pace.
