Liverpool and Fenerbahce level after two deflected goals in Champions League clash

Liverpool and Fenerbahce were level at half-time after both sides scored through deflections in their Champions League meeting at Chobani Stadium in Istanbul on Wednesday.
Liverpool took the lead in the 25th minute when Trey Nyoni’s powerful effort struck a Fenerbahce player and changed direction before finding the net.
The Turkish side responded four minutes later through former Manchester United player Mason Greenwood. His direct free-kick hit the defensive wall and deceived Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, making it 1-1 in the 29th minute.
Liverpool controlled possession for much of the opening period, recording 69% compared with Fenerbahce’s 31%.
However, the two teams were closely matched in terms of attempts on goal. Liverpool managed nine shots, with one on target, while Fenerbahce had eight attempts, including two that were on target.
