By Oyediji Oluwaseun Babatunde

Nigeria forward, Macleans Chinonyerem scored her first goal for Al Shabab in the Saudi Women’s Premier League on Saturday.

The goal was not enough to prevent her team, Al Shabab from a 6-2 loss to Al Ahli.

The hosts were two goals down by half time as Ghana’s Alice Kusi and Moroccan international, Ibtissam Jraidi put the visitors ahead.

Maria Diaz Cirauqui pulled a goal back for Al Shabab but Jraidi’s second goal of the match restored Al Ahli’s two goal lead in the 63rd minute.

Macleans scored her first goal for her team in the 66th minute before Naomie Kabakaba scored a brace to silence the home fans.

The goal was her first for the Saudi Arabian side some joining from Lokomotiv Moscow at the end of her contract with the Russian side after the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Jraidi completed her hat trick in the 85th minute to seal the 6-2 win for the travelers.

The loss was the first for Al Shabab after winning their first two games of the season.

They occupy the fourth position on the log with six points after three games.
