Moffi and Onyedika score as Eintracht Frankfurt overcome Hamburg

Eintracht Frankfurt claimed a 3-1 win over Hamburg on Sunday evening, with Nigeria internationals Terem Moffi and Raphael Onyedika both finding the net.

Onyedika, who moved to Eintracht Frankfurt from Club Brugge shortly before the summer transfer window closed, scored his first goal for the club in the second half.

The midfielder reacted fastest after Heuer Fernandes had saved a header from a corner, diving low to keep out the initial effort. Onyedika followed up from close range to put Frankfurt back in front.

His goal came after Moffi had earlier equalised for the visitors. Hamburg had taken the lead in the 10th minute through Warmed Omari’s own goal, before Moffi restored parity four minutes later.

Moffi was alert inside the area and finished past goalkeeper Noah Atubolu after being the first to reach the loose ball.

The goal continued the forward’s productive start since his move to Frankfurt from Ligue 1 club OGC Nice. Moffi is still adapting to the demands of the Bundesliga but has now scored three times in nine appearances in all competitions.

For Onyedika, the goal marked an important personal milestone after his arrival from Club Brugge. The Nigerian midfielder opened his account as Eintracht Frankfurt secured their victory against Hamburg.

Moffi will now hope to maintain his scoring form, establish himself further in the team and demonstrate to the manager that he can make a success of his time in Germany.
