Nasiru Jibrin: Nigeria midfielder joins Barau FC on free transfer from Wikki Tourists

Nigeria attacking midfielder Nasiru Jibrin has joined Barau FC on a free transfer from Wikki Tourists, strengthening the NPFL side’s creative options ahead of the new campaign.
The 24-year-old moves after his contract with Wikki Tourists ended, with Barau securing the playmaker without a transfer fee. Jibrin, a right-footed attacking midfielder, arrives with a current market value of €50,000 and experience in both Nigerian and European football.
Jibrin leaves Wikki Tourists for the second time in his career, having first represented the Bauchi club as a teenager before spells with Akwa United, Katsina United and Danish outfit Jammerbugt FC. He later returned to Nigeria with FC One Rocket, from where he rejoined Wikki Tourists in 2023.
Across his time in the NPFL, Jibrin has made 56 league appearances, contributing seven goals and two assists, averaging a goal roughly every 355 minutes. His performances in domestic competition earned him a move to Akwa United in 2021, where he was part of the squad that won the Nigerian league title in the 2020-21 season.
Barau FC have listed him as an attacking midfielder, but his record suggests he can operate across the advanced midfield roles, offering an additional link between midfield and attack. He officially joined the club on 21 July 2026, with the move registered as a free transfer from Wikki Tourists.
