No striker has Victor Osimhen qualities – Jose Peseiro

Nigeria head coach, Jose Peseiro has rated Victor Osimhen high above other strikers in the world due to his rare qualities.

Osimhen played an impactful role in Nigeria’s final appearance of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire but he couldn’t replicate his scoring form after his efforts being chalked off by Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review.

While defending the Napoli star, Peseiro believes the reigning Africa Player of the Year can play for any top clubs in the world due to his aerial ability and vertical movements.

“I think he can play for any team in the world,” Peseiro was quoted by Catalan Publication Sport.

“I’m not going to say one to avoid speculation. He is an animal when it comes to pressing, very good with his head, in the area, and with his eye, which he also associates.

“Of course, he doesn’t associate like other Barça players, but City also looked for associative football and went for Haaland.

“Aren’t City winning? Isn’t Erling scoring goals? Osimhen is a player to play for Barça, Madrid, or another.

“Other associative players do not have his vertical movements, his aerial ability, or his pressure. He can play on the best team in the world.”

The Super Eagles will resume preparation for the next AFCON with a a trip to Johannesburg to face South Africa on June three.
