NPFL: Ezeaku urges fans to remain positive in Enugu Rangers after slow start

By Wale Mustapha

Amobi Ezeaku, CEO of Enugu Rangers, has called for unwavering support from fans and stakeholders as the team navigates a challenging start to the new Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Despite a goalless draw against Elkanemi Warriors on opening day, Ezeaku is optimistic about the club’s long-term prospects and is urging patience during this rebuilding phase.

Ezeaku emphasized that the team’s current struggles are part of a broader plan to establish a strong and sustainable foundation for future success.

“Trusting the process and building with patience is essential for creating a sustainable future for Rangers,” he said. “Success in football isn’t just about short-term victories; it’s about laying a strong foundation that can support consistent growth over time.”

He also reiterated the importance of both on-field and off-field investments.

“On the pitch, this means developing a solid youth academy, nurturing local talent, and creating a culture of hard work and resilience. Investing in the right coaching staff, scouting network, and facilities will yield long-term benefits, even if the results aren’t immediate. Patience here allows for the development of a playing style and identity that can become a hallmark of the club,” Ezeaku wrote on his X account.

Further emphasizing the holistic approach to success, Ezeaku stated, “Off the pitch, building sustainable success involves establishing strong financial management, securing lasting partnerships, and expanding the club’s reach in the community.

“By focusing on these areas, Rangers can ensure that the club is financially stable and continues to grow its fan base. Initiatives like the Rangers Foundation and Academicals are perfect examples of long-term investments that will pay dividends both in community engagement and player development.”

He concluded with a call for balance between immediate needs and long-term goals: “The key is to maintain a balance between immediate needs and long-term goals, always remembering that lasting success is built step by step. This approach will not only create a winning team but also a club that remains a pillar of excellence for years to come.”

Rangers will face Ikorodu City in their next NPFL match, hoping to turn their fortunes around and demonstrate the positive impact of their long-term strategy.
