NPFL: Gombe United appoints Bala Nikyu as Technical Adviser for remainder of season

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) outfit, Gombe United has officially announced the appointment of Bala Nikyu, a seasoned veteran in Nigerian football management as the team’s Technical Adviser.

In a release by the Club Head of media and communication, the appointment of the former coach of Wikki Tourists, Katsina United, and Nasarawa United was confirmed.

Bala Nikyi has a successful track record, including a stint as the head coach of Niger Tornadoes.

The decision to enlist Nikyu’s expertise comes as Gombe United prepares for the crucial remainder of the NPFL fixtures with the club’s sights set on maintaining its status in the league.

Speaking on the acquisition, Abubakar Abubakar Yellow, the General Manager of Gombe United, expressed confidence in Nikyu’s capabilities, stating, “Nikyu is a well-experienced gaffer. His proven track record and tactical knowledge will be invaluable assets to our team. We believe that under his leadership, we can mould a solid team that will strive to please our supporters and stakeholders.”

Nikyu’s appointment signals Gombe United’s commitment to strengthening their coaching staff and elevating their performance in the NPFL.

As the club prepares to embark on the next phase of their campaign, all eyes will be on Nikyu as he assumes his new role and endeavors to lead Gombe United to success on the pitch.

Nikyu has a huge task ahead of him as the team occupies the 19th position on the log with 24 points after 27 games.

They are only above the bottom side, Heartland FC with a point difference and seven points short of relegation safety.
