Niger Tornadoes coach, Mohammed Magin, has described his side’s narrow 1-0 loss to Elkanemi Warriors as a painful defeat, especially given the team’s strong performance in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter on Sunday.
The Ikon Allah Boys were undone by a second-half goal from Mustapha Ibrahim, which proved to be the match-winner for the Borno Army.
Tornadoes had a chance to equalize, but their effort was ruled out for offside, further adding to the frustration.
Despite the loss, Coach Magin praised his players for their resilience and determined display throughout the match, noting that they fought hard but were unfortunate to come away with nothing.
“It was a tough loss, a painful one, but we showed character and resilience all through. We’ll put this game behind us and focus on the next one,” Magin said in an interview with Tornadoes’ media.
Looking ahead, Niger Tornadoes will turn their attention to their next fixture, where they will face Ikorodu City at the Bako Kotangora Stadium in Minna.
