Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Kano Pillars have initiated talks with veteran coach Gbenga Ogunbote over the role of Technical Adviser, following the departure of Usman Abdallah.
The club announced Abdallah’s exit on Wednesday, citing personal reasons for his decision to step down.
Ogunbote, currently head coach of Shooting Stars, has one year remaining on his contract with the Ibadan-based club.
However, sources close to the situation indicate that Kano Pillars are keen on securing his services ahead of the new season.
The experienced tactician has managed several top NPFL teams, including Sunshine Stars, Remo Stars, Enyimba, and Rangers International.
Kano Pillars are looking to rebuild and reassert themselves among the NPFL elite after a mixed campaign last season.
