In her debut match for Napoli, following her transfer from Nigeria’s Naija Ratels, Olamide Adugbe played a pivotal role in the team’s performance during a 3-1 loss to reigning champions AS Roma on Sunday.

Unveiled just last Thursday, Adugbe entered the game in the 58th minute after Napoli had already conceded three goals in the first half, with a brace from Manuela Giugliano and a goal from Canadian Evelyn Veins putting Roma in control.

Despite the tough start, Adugbe showcased her talent by assisting Michela Giordano for Napoli’s consolation goal in the 80th minute.

However, the Nigerian midfielder also faced a challenge, receiving a yellow card shortly after her introduction.

Currently, Napoli sits in seventh place with three points from four matches, and they will look to bounce back against AC Milan on October 6, 2024.
