Players’ Ratings: How Nigerian players fared in Jollof derby victory over Ghana

Nigeria’s senior men’s national team got the bragging rights against Black Stars of Ghana with a 2-1 friendly on Friday in Marrakech, Morocco.
Cyril Dessers and Ademola Lookman scored for the three times AFCON winners as Jordan Ayew got the consolation for Ghana in the closing minutes.
Here’s how the players performed:

Stanley Nwabali – 8/10: Continued his impressive form with crucial saves, showcasing excellent coordination with his defense despite conceding a goal.

Bright Osayi-Samuel – 5/10: Struggled to make significant impact in attack and was unfortunate to give away a late penalty, tarnishing his overall performance.

Benjamin Tanimu – 7.5/10: Showed great promise in his debut, displaying solid defensive skills and composure on the ball before being forced off due to injury.

Chidozie Awaziem – 7.5/10: Performed admirably, contributing to the team’s build-up play and demonstrating strength in aerial duels.

Semi Ajayi – 7/10: Maintained composure throughout, showcasing solidity in defense and effectively neutralizing the threat posed by Jordan Ayew.

Bruno Onyemaechi – 5.5/10: Struggled to impose himself on the game as expected, making some errors in passing but contributing with crucial crosses and shots.

Wilfred Ndidi – 7.5/10: Displayed his importance to the team with a commanding midfield performance, providing essential link-up play between defense and attack.

Frank Onyeka – 8/10: Continued his impressive form from the AFCON, disrupting Ghana’s rhythm effectively throughout the game.

Alex Iwobi – 8/10: Produced an improved performance, heavily involved in the team’s attacking plays and providing a superb assist for the second goal.

Cyriel Dessers – 7/10: Opened the scoring with a composed penalty and posed a constant threat to the Ghanaian defense with his attacking prowess.

Kelechi Iheanacho – 8/10: Was a constant menace to the Ghanaian defense with his movement and energy, contributing significantly to the team’s attacking threat.

Substitutes:
