Real Madrid’s seven-match winning run puts them on brink of perfect return

Real Madrid have been praised for a remarkable run of form since the latest international break, with a report describing the club’s “26 golden days” after seven consecutive victories in La Liga and the Champions League.
The Spanish newspaper Marca wrote on Thursday: “Win, win, win, win, win, win, win. That is Real Madrid’s perfect record since returning to competition after the latest international break.”
It added: “For 26 golden days, Mourinho’s team have performed in an unbeatable way, giving them a huge boost. They have become a winning machine. Four victories in La Liga and three in the Champions League is their outstanding record at present.”
Real Madrid’s perfect league sequence, which included victory at Camp Nou, has brought them back into contention for the domestic title, according to the report.
Their three European wins have also practically secured a place in the knockout stages and left them one step away from achieving their target of finishing in the top eight for the first time. That progress has come as a direct result of the seven-match winning streak.
Real Madrid will now have only their match at Mestalla against Valencia on 07 November 2026 before completing their run between international breaks.
The club’s ambitious objective was to take a perfect record from eight matches out of eight and remove any remaining doubts. Mourinho’s side are now one game away from achieving that target.
A dramatic change in form
In the space of a month, Real Madrid have undergone a significant transformation from the team that entered the previous international break.
At that point, their defeat in the derby – their second loss of the season – had left them looking exhausted. Several weeks later, the signs of that decline have disappeared and Real Madrid have returned to their familiar level in both competitions.
The winning run is also a significant turnaround for a side that had gone a long time without putting together such an extended sequence of victories.
Valverde said: “You work with less pressure and enjoy it because things are going well, and tomorrow we return to training.”
He added: “I congratulate our team on coming back strongly twice; it means we are full of energy and vitality. We knew they defended very well in their area, leaving us space outside the penalty area to shoot… Today the ball went into the net, which does not always happen.”
Jude Bellingham, who was named player of the match, also spoke about Real Madrid’s current level and their confidence.
“We worked extremely hard to get this victory,” he said. “We kept possession, created chances and played as we have been playing in the Champions League recently.”
