Forward, Rinsola Babajide put up a fantastic display in her Spanish side, Costa Adeje Tenerife’s 2-1 loss at Madrid CFF in the first league match of the 2024/2025 women’s top flight league in Spain on Saturday.

The first two chances of the game came the way of the Nigerian forward in the first half.

She had her left-footed effort inside the box saved by the opponent’s goalkeeper.

The former Real Betis player also saw another left-footed strike inside the box hit the woodwork.

In the 32nd minute, the Super Falcons player executed the corner kick, which was headed into the net by Jassina Blom for the opening goal.

The lead lasted ten minutes before Kamila Melgard leveled the scoreline.

In the 61st minute, Kayla Jay McKenna scored the winning goal for Madrid CFF with good footwork inside the box before a deflected goal.

Babajide played the full 90 minutes of the game as she started her second season with the team.

She scored three goals with seven assists for Costa Adeje Tenerife last season.

Her compatriot, Gift Monday was not dressed for the season opener.

They will hope to return to winning ways against Sevilla FC on September 9, 2024.
