Leicester City has identified Newcastle United’s midfielder, Sean Longstaff, as a potential replacement for their Nigerian midfield general, Wilfred Ndidi.

The Super Eagles’ vice-captain has been linked with a move away from King Power Stadium in the summer, with several clubs expressing interest in him.

According to Caught Offside, the Foxes have made inquiries with Newcastle about the possibility of signing Longstaff, who will be entering the final phase of his contract by the summer.

The 26-year-old England star has started 24 Premier League games for Newcastle this season, recording six goal involvements.

Ndidi could be playing his last season at King Power Stadium as top clubs in the Premier League and abroad, including Barcelona, push to sign him as a free agent.

West Ham is said to be eyeing him as a replacement for Manchester City loanee Kalvin Phillips, while Crystal Palace, Tottenham, Wolves, and Aston Villa have him on their radar.

Juventus is also interested in the Nigeria international, and the list of suitors could grow longer in the coming days.
