Serie A: Chukwueze helps AC Milan earn point at Sassuolo

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze featured as AC Milan were held to a 1-1 draw by Sassuolo in Serie A at the Mapei Stadium on Sunday evening.
The Nigerian international, making his sixth league appearance of the campaign, produced a lively display as Milan were forced to settle for a point. Chukwueze has also contributed two assists this season as he continues to develop within the team’s tactical system.
Operating with his trademark pace and direct approach, the winger repeatedly tested the Sassuolo defence. He remained involved until the closing stages before being replaced by Hutchinson in the 85th minute, with Milan searching for a late winning goal.
The visitors had to adjust early in the match after Matteo Gabbia suffered an injury. Koni De Winter came on as his replacement, but neither side was able to break the deadlock before half-time.
The game opened up after the interval, with Milan taking the lead in the 63rd minute. Adrien Rabiot finished clinically after being played in by substitute Luka Modric to put the Rossoneri ahead.
Sassuolo responded almost immediately, restoring parity just four minutes later. Defender Cas Odenthal converted from a set-piece situation in the 67th minute, beating Mike Maignan and prompting loud celebrations from the home supporters.
Milan increased the pressure as they looked for a second goal, making further tactical changes and bringing on fresh players, including Ardon Jashari and Alphadjo Cisse.
However, Fabio Grosso’s Sassuolo side maintained its defensive shape throughout the closing stages. The hosts resisted Milan’s late push and secured a hard-earned point from an even contest.
