Ex-international Victor Ikpeba has voiced his support for the Super Falcons following their narrow 1-0 defeat to Brazil at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The only goal of the match came from Gabi Nunes in the 37th minute, sealing the win for the Brazilians.

Ikpeba praised the Nigerian team for their commendable performance, highlighting their determination and passion.

“You just must commend the girls. They gave everything, they played with their heart, with determination, with passion,” Ikpeba told Daily Post.

He acknowledged that while the Falcons had opportunities in the first half, they were unable to convert them, which could have turned the game in their favor.

Despite the defeat, Ikpeba expressed pride in the team’s effort and emphasized the importance of learning from the experience.

“They probably lacked the quality in attack, but they have everything to be proud of. The Super Eagles must learn from how they fight for each other,” he added.

The Super Falcons will next face Spain on Sunday, July 28, as they continue their campaign in the tournament.
